Amy Smart was an American model as well as actress. She was born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modeling career there. She made her acting debut in 1996, when she appeared in The TV film Her Costly Affair. The actress struggled for an appearance for her in Starship Troopers. It was a difficult transition for Amy as she had change from modeling to the acting profession. Models aren't thought of as great actors so they tend to get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy did her best to get noticed and was eventually offered larger roles starting at The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. After a while Amy made the jump to more prominent roles. The film she starred in was the romance film Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. The film became a massive box office success and Amy was finally able to get the recognition that she was striving for for over 10 years. She did some big films within the Crank trilogy opposite Jason Statham. And she also played a recurring role on Shameless. Shameless series.
