Amy Smart was an American model and actress. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modeling profession in Italy. Her acting debut came in the year 1996 with her debut in the TV production Her Costly Affair. It took a long time to get her into Starship Troopers in a smaller part. It was a difficult transition for Amy since she needed transition from modelling to acting. Models aren't regarded as the best actors so they tend to play smaller, less important roles. Yet, somehow Amy did not give up and transitioned to bigger roles eventually starting with the series The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. The 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends, which also featured Ryan Reynolds, saw her take on some more notable parts. Amy was finally recognized for the role she'd been seeking since the age of 10. Amy continued to appear in some of the biggest movies, including the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she portrayed a character who remained in the spotlight for a long time.
